He responds to threats made by Iran against Israel.
President Joe Biden said he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after Iran threatened to attack the nation of Israel in response to an attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria. The president said the U.S. commitment to Israel is “ironclad.“
“They’re threatening to launch a significant attack in Israel,” President Biden said at a White House press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio. “We’re going to do all we can to protect Israel’s security.”
U.S. intelligence reported on Wednesday that a major attack against Israel by Iran was imminent. General Erik Kurilla, Commander of the U.S. Central Command, is coordinating possible responses with Israel in the event of such a strike.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that the nation will “react very quickly with a decisive offensive action against the territory of whoever attacks our territory, no matter where it is, in the entire Middle East.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For General Kurilla and Defense Minister Gallant to receive God’s guidance as they coordinate security measures for Israel.
- For wisdom for the president and his foreign policy advisors as they consider options to support Israel.
- For the peace of Jerusalem, for discernment for Israeli leaders and U.S. officials.
